Stuck after meeting Alyx!! :(

Hi everyone.
I just started playing. Met Alyx. She kicked some ass. Then calls up the elevator. Then nothing....
I have tried standing in the elevator for minutes. Tried tlaking to her. Went around. Came back. Stood besides her, maybe she wants to go in first. But nothing. She just stands there. Looking into the elevator. Of course I cannot operate it.

Is there is something stupid that I am doing? Not doing?

Thats a bug as far as I can see, it's not your fault.

Reload the last autosave, or the autosave before that and see if the problem persists.

yep, what he said. Shame there's still some small bugs in Half-Life 2 - I came across a few glitches during my first go.

Guess nothings perfect, even after year-long delays.

Another bug, chapter 15 or so,

If you're in the 2nd last chapter, swinging around with your uber gravity gun, there are some spots where you have to shoot the elektroballs (or whatever you wann call em) from the containter to kill the energyfield. Happened to me 2 or 3 times the field would just continue working after picking up the balls and then shooting em instead of shooting em immediately...

Yeah I disabled a field, then spent ages just playing around with the gun, then the field came back and I couldn't disable it again

im getting this same elevator bug right after you meet alyx - it also happened to my friend - like may of you he simply loaded a saved game from minutes before the elevator, and everything went great, alyx got on the elevator and the level progressed - i have tried reloading games from before the elevator and everytime alyx talks then when she should get on the elevator, she doesnt and just stands there - and YES i bought the game, i paid $55 for it - am i screwed? has anyone (either valve or a gamer) made a patch! im very frustrated!

I suppose you are talking about the second one. These kinds of problems usually only occur in the warez version. But if the first poster really bought the game, I am sorry.

It's not a bug but still annoying: This happened to me too and I was wondering what's going on until I noticed that I somehow always managed to bounce those balls away in an angle that they returned to the core.
