Stuck again!! Ravensholm

Right at beginning, at long ladder...I'm sure I have to stack things and get above the stuff on the ladder, but when I get on the ladder I can't get up it!! Am I doing the right thing? I have moved loads of boxes etc, even reloaded to previous autosave and brought 2 more crates with me when dog opens the door to ravensholm. Thanks

dude, look closer at the gate covering the ladder. it is locked. unlock with an instrument of your choosing.
