Stuck, am I a noob or is it a bug?

Hey guyz first time posting here so hello to you all... this site kept me alive in the last couple hours I waited for me to be able to activate my HL2 game.

I am stuck in this part right after the dams, I think its called Black Mesa something. Its after you destroy the helicopter. You hop off your hover thingy and go near a building and at the end of it there is this room. If you go in it you get trapped in a room. Then you can hear people talking about how good it will be to have more people around to help, smoke then fills the room and then a laser scans u. While this is happening cameras are watching me up above. After all this is done the green light is lit up and if I hit the wall buttons (there are 2 one at each door) They both say error on them. Then I am stuck in this room... I cant get out anywhere.. even the way I came in. Is there some trick to this?? I am goin crazy tryin to figure it out.. I think its just a bug and the door will not open. Anyone have any advice? I downloaded HL2 off of steam could this be a bug? Thnx for your help

well if i remeber rightly, when the scann as finished a women starts talking to u from a little window that opens up , then she opens the door for you

Just got done with that part 5 mins ago. As they said, you don't have to do anything at all. Mossman is supposed to open the door for you.

dude if ur cheating some parts wont work correctly so turn off the cheats, and ull most likely need to go back.... that is if ur cheating, if not ur jus weird

He most likely nocliped or something. lol. I am just glad I didn't have to restart the game. I've been cheating during the entire game.

Hmmm...

Cheating?? hehe me no... never.... actually no I am not into cheating... unless duping items in the first Diablo was considered cheating. Nah no cheating happening I dont know whats up with it... it is being weird. I get stuck in there. No one opens a slot in the door to talk to me at all. Hmmmm I will try it again and then try it from a little farther back.. I will brb.. Thnx for your help. Now I know I am not stuipid and that it is a bug.

thay dont open a slot in the door ... its up on the wall a little metal window opens .... the the women comes down and opens the door for you

Yea I went back and tried it from a lv back and still no woman.. I hear her but she doesnt come down to answer the door for me... maybe its cause I am ugly. I dunno... Anyone have any other suggestions?

Same predicament

Pocketbook, I'm in the same situation as you except that i'm stuck a bit further. Mossman led me to another room where there's a lift and when the lift comes up, her dialogue just ended and nothing happens!! I click every button around and nothing helps! HELP!!

duping items in diablo 1 was an glitch/bug/unintended reprocussion of coding. Exploiting bugs is a form of cheating. It is breaking the implied rules. Your not suposed to be able to do it under normal cercumstances, so if you do, its cheating.

if youve been cheating the first time you played it, tis a bit sad.
ive been waiting for this game for 2 years, cheating my way through the campaign would totally ruin the game for me, shame on you.

and about you being stuck, there is a window on the left hand side when you enter the air-lock that should open soon after you step in, if not then your game is corrupt, i would suggest re-downloading.
