Stuck at part with 3 blue balls

anyone know what to do ? also ive shot a ball into the core before the force field goes up but how am i supposed to go up ? dont find anything else there to do.

Take one of the balls out again, stand on the "lift" and then shoot the ball back into the generator column. You'll go up on the lift before the shield gets in the way. Then simply grab a ball and put it in the socket.

I was there for some time myself, because I thought you just had to be quicker than the portal rejected the ball.

the one bit of the core that puzzled me for a while was when you reach the top, and have to tiptoe around the core where it's melted to get to the next bit. all that heatwave effect made me think it wasn't solid to walk on
