Stuck.... Entanglement.

Well, I am stuck where you have to set up the 3 turrets when all of the soldiers from the combine come and try to attack you. I brought in another turret so I had 4. I set 2 up on each side and the combine just blast through. I just sit there with nifty shotty out and wait.. Then BOOM like 500 rush at me and i take out like 200 of them but then i die....

If you can help... Reply back... If you can't... Then I am sure i will figure it out later.

Yep, me too... where did you get the fourth turret?

a friend of mine beat this by carrying a turret around but I couldnt beat it like that. I could use a bit of advcie on turret placement or anything of the sort.

Here's what to do:

Activate all the turrets, but place them back in their containers facing outward, and then get into one of the centre two containers, whichever you choose. Make sure all the other containers have a turret. Then, when a combine comes to get you, a turret will distract and kill him. And since they're in their containers, they will be really hard to knock over. If any combine do get through, a secondary fire from the shotgun should finish them off. And if you need ammo, you'll have a huge load of dead bodies in front of you to raid.

Once they stop coming (there's like 4 waves), finish off any manhacks or combine still wandering about, and Alyx should show up.

That's awesome. Personally I cheated. I tried it two different way for around 15 times. Then I said **** it and went and looked up god (For godmode). Said and done, I killed everyone with my trusty crowbar.

Just like your friend. I carried one around with me. I figured it would come in handy sooner or later.

im here too. i only tried 3 times so far. i lasted a while but keep gettin killed. i also carried around a turret with me so i have 4. ill have to try the container theory if i cant beat it the next couple tries.

Stuck on this part as well. The rest of the game has been releatively easy compared to this part. It's giving me a really hard time. it's bloody hard to keep those turrets standing whilst fending of the Combine soldiers yourself!

I just played through that fight again and I tried out the "turn the turret around" theory out. It worked GREAT. I only lost 3 health and 3 power. The trick is you have to take the turrets completely out of the crate and turn them around 180 degrees or they won't fire. Do that to all 3 turrets and then step into the empty crate. When facing the health charger on the wall I had one turret on my left and two on my right. When the soldiers see the turrets they completely ignore you, giving you a chance to blast them with the shotgun. And if you get low on ammo just use the gravity gun to grab another shotgun and reload. I had enough ammo to use the shotgun on the manhacks so I didn't have to switch weapons during that whole fight except to grab another shotgun for ammo.

One other thing I did which worked for a while is I took the other two turrets with me across the electrified water and set them up at the top of the stairs, before I jumped down to the lower level. They lasted through the first two waves of soldiers and took out a lot of them.

I did what you did, except I never even had to shoot a single round. I kept the turrets in their lockers, "activated" them, and then I barricaded myself into the other locker. Other than swatting a few manhacks, I was unscathed, and ready for the next fight.

i just took the turrets out of their lockers and placed them back in the same spot. when the soldiers came in, they were distracted by the turrets so i just picked them out one by one with the shotgun and smashed the remaining manhacks with the grav gun :] i got through that part pretty easily.. by the time all the soldiers were dead, the whole room was red :O

Hmmm... wish i had thought of that, that was one of the hardest parts of the game for me! It took me umpteen attempts. I eventually cracked it by sitting in one of the containers with a turret in front of me facing right, with the other 2 turrets on the opposite wall, one facing left and one facing right. I then covered mainly the left-hand-side with my firepower. This strategy held for a long time, until the 2 turrets opposite were finally toppled in the last attack, by which time I managed to mop everything up between myself and the remaining turret. PHEW! :O

That said, when turrets are toppled and you have to move out into the open to erect them again, it is nigh on impossible (I have only played it on hard, so maybe possible on medium).

in that part of entanglement instead i stacked the boxes and barrels to get to an upper hallway. Then I shot the two turrets up there with my gravity gun picked up the third one, let it go, and ran as fast as I could to the hallway. Then I set up the turrets and let them kill all the combines. I took a couple of tries though. Also in the control room where you have two turrets, get all the supplies first, then with your gravity gun in front of the door you came from, put the items to surround the door, then place the turrets in the middle. the combines wont be able to knock down the turrets because they cant move the items plus they cant jump over them. all the combines will do is either ran at the items or shoot at the turrets.

My turretts don't shoot the enemy dudes! They just blaze away at me. Why are they doing this? Is this a glitch, or am i being really stupid?

I must have answered this 3 times before... anyway, my tip is that the combine don't attack until the last turret is set, so you can take your time with them. You can stack crates to get up to a balcony that they can't get to, and let the turrets do the work. Easy.
