Stuck In Nova Prospect

I can't seem to figure out how to shut off the energy field in front of the two turrets shooting at me! Its right after you find the vort in the chair... I went upstairs but there was nothing.. What am I missing ?

I'm stuck in another part of Nova Prospekt: Where you have do defend the cell block against a steady stream of soldiers using the 3 gun turrets. Is there something I'm missing? I've tried all kinds of different turret positions, protected turrets with crates and barrels, created barricades, etc. I still get over-run every time. I'd like to hear what tactics other ppl used to get through that part!

Well, you could do it cheaply like this: I just sat in one of the alcoves that you find the turrets in waiting for combine soldiers to poke their noses in, but after they knocked all of my turrets down, they just kinda sat outside playing with their radios, I think I had to kill maybe 6-7 soldiers the whole encounter, because I ran out just before alyx showed up and killed the three soldiers that were nearby, and then when she showed up, the soldiers stopped coming, i got away from that fight nearly scot free.

But seriously man, there's like 4-5 topics just on this page of the forum with solutions for that....

Yeah that is what I ended up doing. I put all the SGs in their lockers, and i crouched in the empty one with the shotty....like shooting fish in a barrel!

I put two out to the right hall (from facing the turret cabinet) back to back, and one to the left hall, then covered the other entry to the left hall. Only had to reset one turret once from a nade that got in there.

look up to the right and there's a corridor up there, I stacked some boxes and a few drums to climb up there, placed 2 turrets down near my stack, shooting across eachother so to defend eachother, placed the 3rd on the balcony of the above corridor and stayed behind it.....

I threw a nade in the room, and it deactivated the energy field.

I went to the second room (with the chest of mp90 ammo) and setup 2 sentry's right flush with the windows, and the 3rd right in the middle of the room facing the other direction, then i stood against one wall waiting for anyone to come try to knock the "vulnerable" one in the middle of the room over...worked like a charm..until grenades started flying...but i got it eventually....took me a LONG time to figure out a good setup for the sentrys
