I have just had my weapons destroyed and am running for my life.
I get to an elevator which takes me up to a room with a force field and two guards. The guards leave after a while but I'm still stuck. I have no weapons and am unable to get out. Any help would be appreciated.

don't you have a gravity gun?

yeah, the machine leaves the gravity gun on the floor, and it now glows blue and is upgraded by the beam. you have to get it, trust my, you wont regret it

I went back to get it but I can't pick it up. I have tried the e Key and the g key.

I had to completely restart the level to make it work. If you don't pick it up at the start and try to go back and get it, you can't. Even if you moved over it, nothing happened.

same thing happened to me.. it must be a bug.

i loaded a saved game in the cidatel and i couldnt jump. that energy thing you see is where you are supposed to go by jumping over the railing..i also had the buggyness of picking up the supergravgun form a saved game

i tried to rebind jump and everything..weird and annoying.
i had to backtrack to follow freeman and enter the citadle again in order to be able to jump.

I love this part (spoiler)

I use the upgraded gravity gun to rip the hell out of everything I can, tear off the computer equipment while Breen is babbling his propoganda, and throw them at the combine, pick up combine and throw them at each other, grab engery orbs and fry those bastards. You can pick up Combine and throw them in the energy flows, watch them do weird things while they die, you can also use computer terminals to protect you in the elevator, just load about three of them on the elevator before you go up, then crouch down hehind them. This level is just too much fun!!!!

The Elevator is at the end of the run in the middle of the room, its huge round glass looking. Push the button with the light on it, on the far side of the railings, wait a least a minute or two while the elevator comes up, you will have to fight the whole time. Health is on the back wall.

Keep stocking up on that health, the gravity gun is your very good friend here!
