I get all my weapons taken away. My Gravity gun turns into the best weapon ingame. Make my way through to where I can see a huge energy beam in a room, but I can't get there. 1 path is blocked by an energy shield and the other is blocked by a railing. Since you can't jump on this level it is being difficult.


What am I missing? I have been back and forth up and down the path and can't find what to do.

You can jump, reload the game, its a bug, and your gun can reach those energy beam

is that the bit where theres a platform in the middle? if so theres a button you need to press in the middle somwhere

No the gun cannot reach anything.

I have even restarted from an earlier level where I could jump and I cannot jump on this level.

There are no "buttons" to push.



Am I hopelessly stuck?

Some people have this strange not-being-able-to-jump-bug. Try reloading, reloading, reloading, reloading the saves, the chapter...
nothing else really to do.

Go back to the bit right before you enter the transport shell

jump around, then get in it

DO NOT and this is very important DO NOT exit to windows at any point along the ride, or the loading sections

When you land, just after you pick up the gravity gun, try and jump


that solved it for me
