stuck in route kanal, help!!!

Hi, im stuck in a room in route kanal (half life 2). It's a room with water and a red lit tunnel in the corner above the water. There's a ladder to a room above with loads of flammable and non flammable drums, i've tried dropping these down the ladder and pilling them up to reach the tunnel with no luck yet, am i doing it right or is there another way around. There is also a round cover under the water in front of the tunnel. I've tried for days now to figure this out, gone back a few levels to try and find another way, doesn't seem to be one. Getting frustrated, want to get into some more shooting. Anyone help? Cheers, Chimpboy.........

Alot of people try that, you dont need to do it. Go into the corner of the second bit of the room, where the pipes go upwards. As you go up you'll find a valve around the back. Turn it, and the room will flood, allowing you to get over.
