stuck on highway

i've taken out the gunship with the rocket launcher but left my buggy at the first house and don't have enough ammo to go back. the developers console won't come down when i press ~. any ideas?

you gotta add, "-console" in the target directory. Right click on your hl2 launch icon (the one you always use, or do it in steam) and put in in the 'target' box. Then you can use console to load whatever map you want.

That is because people usually have found this option themselves but that didnt fix the problem, because they have a non-USA keyboard (like me! :flame: )

You have typed sv_cheats 1 in the console first, haven't you?

Incidentally, if you've cleared the way through to get to this point where you're stuck, why can't you go back - all the enemies will be dead, surely?

Presumeably because the Antlions spawn continuously on Highway 17. Perhaps they could be avoided by sticking to the water, which the Antlions won't venture into? (though the leeches may nibble you to death... i don't know...)

Edit: Why can't you just reload a previous save?
