Stuck :(

I can't for the life of me figure out what to do. I'm still very much at the beginning of the game.

There is a fence that spans across a cave entrance, sort of, and mining-railroad-cars lying around. To the left were 2 antlions, both of which I killed. I can't figure out how to get into the cave ahead of me (because of the fence blocking the way). You can't climb over it, its all sealed off. There is a whole in the top wall, further back, but its too high to climb, even with the crates lying around...argh!

I'm probably just being retarded, but this is annoying me.

Edit: This is just after I came "crashing down" with the mine shaft elevator.

I think I can visualise the place you're at. They were the first poison antlions you've come across right?

As you stand facing where they were, there is a hole in the floor over to the left. Go down this and you pop up behind the fence which blocks the rest of the way.
