Stuck

I'm Stuck in root canal when you move into the part of the canals that have huge doors closing as you enter the area. Then when you go up to open the gate, you're surrounded by huge metal crates and a heli keeps shooting at you. What do I do?

You can get to one side of the gates through a warehouse typ of building, and should see a sparking valve.

It doesn't work.... but if you turn and look past the door (to the side of the gates you need to get to) there is a cable held down (near some barrels). Shoot the barrels and it will be opened by a crane swinging.

To deal with the chopper, go up the guard tower at the open end of the lock. There will be a couple of combine in it manning mounted guns. use them to kill the pesky chopper.
