POSSIBLE SPOILER!

Hey guys, a friend sent me this pic, claiming it is a secret pic from Episode 2. When I stated Episode 2 has just been started, he went on about how it's a quarter done because they needed to ship the trailer with ep1, etc.

Anyway, What do you think? Custom level? Something taken from Episode 1 (Haven't played all the way through it yet, only just started 2 minutes ago)

I can see one of these supposed "mini-striders" from the Episode 2 trailer. So it might actually be a pic that's looming around on some Russian site and might show up tomorrow on all major hl2 news sites.

The guy playing it noclipped into the part of the map where the Mossman cutscene was shot.

That's not just a screen-shot from the Episode Two trailer is it?

Also, wasn't the model for the mini-strider in Episode One? Wasn't it in the Judith Mossman video? Therefore, wouldn't it be possible someone took the character model and placed it there to forge a legit screen-shot?

Otherwise, your friend is right, apparently Valve was working on Episode One and Two simultaneously.

Ah, well there you go.

Interesting that you can do that. That's a seemingly pretty expansive area.

I just saw this bit with Mossman, Didnt expect her to wear a coat, but it makes sense, in the background, I see what looks like snow, and in the Ep2 trailer, they appear not to be in the arctic, but in a forest and environs.

They'll probably end up in the Arctic near the end of Episode Two or sometime during Episode Three.

Or maybe you'll go there during the duration of Episode Two. Who knows...

It's an ancient secret going back to HL2, you can noclip to a lot of places you're never supposed to be able to walk around in, even the area where the Breencasts originate from. All of HL2's "cutscenes" take place in the engine, so they're always on the map itself, usually just really high in the sky.

I remember someone no-clipping to find G-Man and Odessa Cubbage talking.

I hope that goes somewhere, now that I think of it. That little Easter egg.

You can see that normally in the game by looking through a pair of binoculars. It pans the area, so you see G-Man and Odessa talking, and then when it pans back, you see G-Man walking away. I don't remember exactly where the binoculars are, though. I think there's a bug involved with this, where if you don't allow it to pan back to show G-Man leaving the scene, he'll be frozen in time on the balcony when you actually get there. I think he can even be killed by the gunship when it shows up, none of which is obviously supposed to happen. It's an optional scene, but some believe it suggests that G-Man was the one who warned Odessa about the approaching gunship, and may have even given him the RPG needed to defeat it.

if I recall correctly, the area with the binoculars and new little odessa are on different maps, so when you 'use' the binoculars, it displays a sample of the new little odessa map which is hidden above or below the one you're on
which is why you'd have to noclip there

If that was playable, the ice wall in the background was of the most deplorable quality anyway.

how is this a spoiler anyways even if it was from ep2?????
