What type of system do you have? I have crap.

CPU 2.5
RAM 1GB
GeForce FX 5500

On HL2 and Gmod it runs good, but on Lost Coast I had to tune the settings down a bit.

Yeah, i had few prob's with RAID and winXP, so i never bothered.
Get RAM instead, your notice a difference

Yes, but I'm also attracted by the backup-restore features of RAID - extra RAM would only really benefit high-powered gaming, but a RAID HDD could save me from a wipe.

intergrated sound though, and only 350W power supply. For sound I have the creative P380 (2.1) and I have a Stark mouse and my keyboard is a keytronic. My monitor is a 17" Eizo LCD...
