ok the problem is when playing team fortress 2(doesnt happen in counter strike source, or anyothergame for that matter) i get a random BSOD sometimes 10 mins into the game or after 2 hours of playing. the event viewer says:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000124 (0x00000000, 0x860b8024, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

running windows 7 ultimate , phenom II 955 2gb ddr2 8800gts . temps are fine both gpu and cpu. all drivers are up to date

now ive heard from previous posts this might be to the semi recent tf2 patch demo/soldier.

It is unlikely to be connected to that patch. I would advise you check Portal or Episode 2 to see if they crash too. TF2 is on the Source 2007 engine (Orange Box games) so you can't compare it with Counter Strike Source.

If it happens with 1 of those other OB games too, you'll know it's an issue with that engine specifically. Have you tried turning HDR / bloom off?

Validate your TF2 files too (right click game, properties, files tab, verify integrity of game cache). Do you have the most up to date directx?

Go through these steps too - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?p_faqid=397
