TF2 Halflife2.net Clan: Tag Vote

The nomenclature will be [TAG] Name, with a space between the two (although I suppose it doesn't matter.

Poll will be closed in four days (Wednesday) or if it appears to be decisive.

I like it because it reflects the mod, and the idea and everything. Plus, nobody has used it, and if all else fails, we can just tell them where we're from .

Nope, but given that we're one of the few parts of the internet where D: is commonly used we consider it our own. It is also the name of the [dare I say probably defunct] community mod project.

I went for [HL2.net], even though Ennui is right about it possibly being misleading. Anyway, currently there is no 'hl2.net' site so it may as well be us, barring someone else snapping up the domain on the wave of the Orange Box popularity.

In fact maybe it would be a good idea for Munro to snap up that name for cheap and have it direct here as long as noone already owns it, since I'm sure HL2 will see a bit of a resurgence with OB.

That could make it much too long.. that's an extra 4 characters, which might push some people over the limit.

And in all honestly, why would people out there need to know where we are from? If they wanted to know, they would ask, and having hl2net isn't going to help any more than D:

True, but if I saw hl2net, I'd think hl2.net and if that didn't work, probably think "wtf?". I mean, D: is STILL representing this site, since it's our mod. I mean, how much more of a represent can you get?

Dunno, I kind of feel like representing the site is more than just about generating hits. Any HL2-netter will understand HL2NET and feel that it fits, while the same might not be true of D: (it's the first I've heard of the mod tbh).

I guess it really doesnt matter we could use both right? maybe hl2net for those in on the competition and hl2.net for just regulars. That makes everyone happy what about that? But we should obviously use one, just to know who we are playing with even if its on the hl2.net server.

Good imo. The votes for [HL2.net] and [HL2NET] are being split due to a kind of trivial difference. The real choice is either between [D:] or a [HL2NET]-variant.

Bad idea, lack of unity. We need one tag, along with maybe an identifier for comp. team members but that's not even necessary itself
