Well, i'm sure you can remember a time when a lot more companies put a lot of effort into making quality games. It seems to me there are very few that care about anything other than the bottomline right now, and as a consumer, i appreciate the extra lengths valve is taking to release a quality product.

Well, i'm sure you can remember a time when a lot more companies put a lot of effort into making quality games. It seems to me there are very few that care about anything other than the bottomline right now, and as a consumer, i appreciate the extra lengths valve is taking to release a quality product.

Well, they really dont have a choice.

They're making the follow-up on one of the best games ever (for some, Grim Fandango still owns), if they fail... well... then they will have a hard time coming back up again.

One smart thing they did was when they released the info about the release date for over a year ago. Too bad they had to delay it for so long...

People are taking this a little TOO far. I want to smack the person who made thankyouvalve.com, it's ridiculous. They made a game, they didn't save your life.

Yes I know, but I doubt it. If it was anyone it'd be more then just the typical Gabe styled "Thank you, let's hope for good news tomorrow". It'd be more like "It's definently going gold guys!" <-- That's more of the faker style. I believe it's the genuine stuff.

Anyway, that's just me, (Gabe would undoubtfully check that page anyway, no reason not to respond with a thx).

They will be testing it for 72 Hours. I have no doubt in my mind that the guys wouldn't mind putting the weekend off to test HL2. When that's done, I do not think they'd wait just because it's sunday to say that the RC has gone gold.
