They will be testing it for 72 Hours. I have no doubt in my mind that the guys wouldn't mind putting the weekend off to test HL2. When that's done, I do not think they'd wait just because it's sunday to say that the RC has gone gold.

Do you *REALLY* think playtesters at Vivendi give a damn if they're playing HL2 or Barbie's Horse Adventure 3? Seriously, it's their job, I *highly* doubt they're as excited as we are for HL2.

I doubt those guys even work on Sunday. Most corporations don't operate like that on a Sunday, AFAIK.

But don't you think that they MIGHT have some people working extra hours...especially on something that is going to bring them as much money as this? You're probably right, they may not care about the game, but i'm sure that they care about the money.

Yes I got that from your first post. Thank you for clearing that up for anyone else though. I still think they wouldn't mind playing it during the weekend (Even if they are testing for bugs). They don't even need to be half as excited as most of us here to find HL2 out of the ordinary.

Even if companies don't, usually, operate on weekends/sundays, I believe that Vivendi would make an exception for such a game as HL2. Getting it to stores faster means getting the bling bling quicker.

This might be wishful thinking indeed, but let's just leave it at that shall we?

Could be, but I just doubt they're working over the weekend just for HL2. Unless that's normal operation, I doubt they'd make an exception for a game, regardless of the title.

vivendi universal gives a shit...they won't work on a sunday for a one day earlier release

Funny how ppl thank them already, while it's not even released yet. :D

Who knows, it might suck balls....

...nah, who am i kidding! :)

there is no REASON to thank valve.the fans relationship with valve is mutually beneficial. we receive entertainment and they receive money. so unless valve prints "this game is dedicated to (insert fan's name here)", the fans shouldn't thank valve. it's stupid

Exactly. These "thank you VALVe" threads piss me off as much as the "VALVe sucks!" or the "VALVe owes you nothing!" threads.

I think you're both kinda wrong..

VALVe blatently did not do this game for the money. They did it because they wanted to make a great game...

They had enough money after HL1 and all its retail mods. They could have retired most comfortably. But didnt and made HL2, TF2 and all the source ports.

I think they deserve a thankyou. Yes the massive sales figures would tell them they have done a good job as would the reviews. But I just think its nice to post a thankyou.

Why is it irritating?

don't you understand? valve gives a shit on you all and your opinions! they HATE you! the only thing they want is MONEY!

ok just kidding, even though valve is mainly working to make money, i'm sure they wan't to fullfill the fans expectations...it's still not EA! But i still see no reason to thank them with a site, i don't have any personal connection to the valve employees and so i will thank them by paying 50 bucks for the game and submitting bugs in their betas. And to be accurate, you can not call it "thanking them" cause the only thing we do is "signing" a contract and changing our money into their software.

Its a company, they want to make more money so why would they stop after HL1 when they can make alot more?

Why if they are just after the money did they choose to make games of all things. There are much more profitable/less risky ventures for software developers...

EDIT: Oh come on... am I the only guy out of 18,065 that thinks this... :P

I remember a Valve employe saying that they used all that money for HL2.
