The Citadel looks like Barad-Dur

I've only just started playing Episode 1 tonight, and I couldn't help thinking that the Citadel on fire looks like Sauron's tower in LOTR, as seen from the ground.

Great start to the game, BTW.

Hehe, yeah, when looking up from the base of it. When you see it from the distance it looks alot different.

The flying chunks from the Citadel remind me of Barad-Dur's neighbor, Mt. Doom when it was blowing up in Return of the King. Which reminds me, the Vortigaunts suck as a deus ex machina. Why were they unable to send Dr. Freeman and Miss Vance somewhere far away from City 17? At least the Eagles did their job right back in ROTK, hehehe.

I thought the whole concept of it was incredible, the way they used the effects for it was incredible as well.
The most visually exciting thing I thought was the core. How good did that look?
Also has anyone finished the game with commentary?
I just did and I gotta say it's incredible with the commentary, so much detail, I literally played the game through the second time and the commentary nodes were like bonuses I had to reach.

heh, thats my plan with the commentary - play once, then listen second.

The core - ha - anyone put a few of those power ball thingies (I ain't doing technical terms tonight...) into it - loved the effect. Shame I realised was forcing DX8.1, and not 9 so I didn't get the whole of it.

Also liked the HDR on full in the darkened sections. (not been outside) actually felt like I was there when I had this on at night.

Fantastic game so far, and yes, I do agree, it does look like the tower
