Has anyone ever realized the similarities between the Combine and the Borg, and between G-Man and Q?
Gordon is like, Will Riker?
lol

Borg?

Those space-zombies (assuming no orbital bombardment) could probably be taken out by Ewoks.

Don't start on me about adaptation. Voyager (piece of crap that show was) showed that Borg can repeatedly be taken out by claws.

Damn, Voyager ruined the Borg so much.

I can see the Gman and Q connections, though Q is a lot more flippant about his powers.

Does Gordon consistently refuse promotion to be Eli's buttmonkey? If not, he's certainly not Will Riker.

*dislikes TNG intensely*

Next Generation = Borg were cool.
First Contact = Borg were awesome.
First Voyager appearance = Still awesome.
Everything after that = Pussies.

Well, makes a break from the Trooper references people keep taking. For me, they aren't that similar. I don't think that people would make links between things like TNG and Troopers so readily if their sci-fi experiences were more rounded. These sorts of themes have been around for a long time and will be revisited again I'm sure.

Borg = They go from place to place assimilating life to make it their own.
Combine do the same thing.

Will Riker was the first person I thought of when considering who would match Gordon's appearance in real-life.

Lately I have been seeing Gman as like a Q...he can be anywhere and everywhere all at once, he can control time, etc...

It seems to me that G-Man has limited powers and a goal in mind, whereas Q had infinite powers and tended to just **** around.

OMG if Dog could talk he would be DATA!

P.S: I was just trying to find a comparison for Alyx, and the idea of a good-looking version of Natasha Yar came to mind - and it struck me how interesting it was that a computer generated human can be a much better actress than Denise Crosby ever was.
