The concept art???

Intriguing image. It's been out for a while and I always tried to see some ice in it. Seems like a sort of Combine citadel-like facility but there is nothing else I can tell about it.

I kinda addressed it in the "Start of Episode 3" thread. I don't have a theory on it really, except that maybe there is a large Combine base in the arctic. This would be awesome, especially if Ep3 is indeed at the arctic (since without it, the scenery would be really bland). The picture doesn't show any snow or ice per say, but i get that vibe for some reason. It reminds me of the ending of the movie A.I. (Don't watch if you haven't seen it!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LM0_y4N7ufw&feature=related)
Yes? No?

It's definitely not another Citadel. That said the most important part of the concept is the fellow on the bridge. Just who are the Advisors escorting?

Breen?
Gman...

Alyx...?

How do you know that they are escorting anybody?
It does look that way - it is obvious a human is walking on the bridge (but it could be a stalker...), most likely facing the doorway on the right and is followed by a few Advisors, also facing that direction. So yeah, I think Samon might be right that they are escorting someone... but who?

It looks too blurred to tell if it's a person and not just some control panel for the bridge itself. I think this part may come after whatever happens on the Borealis. I highly doubt though that it's another citadel and could possibly be the last concentrated area of combine control on earth. Just a guess mind, i'm most likely completely wrong. :D
Though what would be nice would be valve coming out and saying what is going on in the picture.

just keep in mind that a lot of concept art ends up being dropped.

sigh... this consept art has been around since Half-Life 2. It's nothing new.

OLD oh and I ****ing hate when people say noone it's "NO ONE" not one word.

Maybe it's Mossman...

I mean, I'm not expecting her to back-stab us again. But they could be leading her somewhere. I mean, like she could get away from four Advisors. Get my point in what I'm saying, cause they're in front of her.

Valve needs to give us a little something before we all go mad. News, picture, hint, video, anything, ANYTHING!

If it's not another citadel... maybe it's the Air Exchange? They brought back the Borealist, why not something else? ;)

Maybe its combine "watch tower on earth" hihi...is that even possible??'cos I doubt we will visit their homeworld, there will be no time for that in ep3...I think!

And this is surtenly not a plece on Borealis...cmon its too gigantic!
...and that is a person for sure!!

A lot of people ignore that "concept art" for its age. It's been discussed plenty already, and there's little else we can squeeze out of it. If it weren't for these handy TF2 updates, we'd all be dehydrating from proper lack of Valve-attention.

I agree that it doesn't have the style of a citadel, although it could be any form of Combine building.

As for theories, little can be deduced from this except there will be advisors. And that could perhaps be the G-man. So I guess a viable theory might be that Episode Three will include "Awesome-epicness".

You know, it's never occured to me, but do the Advisors actually know about Mossman? The time between her betrayal of Breen and his death contained the time for only a single conversation, which we probably heard in its entirety and made no reference to her status. Since then, she somehow managed to get to the Arctic and she was keen to be far gone when the soldiers met resistance in her transmission. Perhaps they still think she's on their side?

No it hasn't.

Thoughts:
- If you look closely at the right hand side of the 'advisor bridge', there are a bunch of white shapes that kind of look human. Perhaps there is more than one person on that bridge?

- To me, the 'Bridges' are quite complex designs by combine bridge standards (They don't look exactly like the Bridges in the citadel.). Perhaps something a bit more complex than simple bridges, perhaps anchoring points for something in a dock (the full bright light seems to suggest that the bridges could be between two buildings, externally.)

- Note the Combine Wall-like structure in the bottom right, suggesting that at the very least, the Combine have controlled this area, but more probably that this is a combine installation. This all counts against it being the Borealis we're seeing

- The area reminds me of two things, though it is most probably meant to be neither: The halls of the citadel, and the bizarre cavern where GlaDOS' core is stored in Portal.

I have to agree that it would appear that they are escorting someone (or more appropriately, something) The answer I would like to propose is some kind of weapon that is of vital importance to the resistances' fight and which could (and no doubt will) be used against them (or Gordon, as the case may be).

That weapon would originate from the Borealis. It would be perhaps the most conflict-capable portal technology we have seen (and we have seen it, without the twist). And my point is?

Chell-Os, a portal-jumping, wise-racking android that started development 10 years ago and has been slightly improved by the combine since.

I cant wait to walk through a corridor and find an ominous portal waiting for me, all colourful and thrilling. But please don't give me a portal gun.
