I'm expecting this ending to be 1 part revelation, 2 parts wtf, and 5 parts "Ha HA! CLIFFHANGER'D AGAIN, SUCKER! See you in Half-Life 3!"

Whether or not it will be good remains to be seen. My previous stance of "Valve can do no wrong" may come completely unhinged when they finally reveal the G-man's motives in this one. At least, that's what's been promised. How far they'll deliver also remains to be seen.

The final Half-Life game should give the player a choice in the ending. And not an obvious choice, either, but a real, meaningful choice depending on how the individual feels Gordon's story--their story--should wrap up.

No I was talking about Ilovehalflife's 2nd pic; if alyx was having sex with Dr Breen I imagine it would be against her will.

Okay fine, I -hope- episode 3 wins game of the year and beats out all the other half life's. I know it's a lot to ask for, but if anyone can do it Valve can.

Especially after they've been focusing on L4D so much I feel like maybe they're bored with half life? I dont know...

I quote myself because Ive been thinking about this and really mean it. I read somewhere that one of the guys there said they dont even know where they want to go with the story, and that is a huge dead-end that could ruin a series when you have to force creativity. This couldve been said a long time ago, but regardless it's a little worrying. I know I know its just a game but I do care =/
 
It will probably end with G-Man taking Gordon away again, rather than with an asshole ending like in Ep 1 and Ep 2. XD

Seriously, did they have to end Episode Two right after they killed off Eli? That was bullshit. :bounce:

All fans of the Half life 2 care about the ending of the story (including me) I must admit that i care too.

Thats the thing about Half Life though, the story and characters are so well rounded out that you can't help but care about how everything's going to end.
I honestly believe that Valve is going to end the series with all barrels blazing, leaving something to anticipate in HL3, if it ever does come out.
If Valve gives ep3 a shitty ending, i will eat my hat.
 
If ep3 sucks, i will probably send some innocent person in to hospital.
