I think this game is awesome, people don't know much about, if they even know it exists.. It's a Canadian sport BTW..

Everything you need to know

I think it's under-appreciated, and it deserves a thread.

Some american fella came over to my primary school to teach a bunch of us Lacrosse. Looking back, it was one bizaare ****ing sport.

Ever see a professional game of it?

They whip the rock hard ball at their team mates, and their team mates somehow catch it, thats freakin precision, man. I think the ball goes just as fast, if not faster then an NHL puck. And I have no idea why the ball is rubber, it's way too hard for rubber :\

I used to play in a league, but I quit cause I sucked, I'm thinking of trying another team next summer, maybe I'll be better..

Maybe the reason it's not more widespread is because everyone else who plays it dies.

Or cause they suck at it? :)

It's a really hard sport to get right, it takes tons upon tons of practise to get good at it.

Dammit, where are all the Canadian HL2.netters, they'll be on my wave-length!

actually it was invented by native americans and was used as a substitute for war. they would play with hundreds of people and the losing clan would gracefully retreat. such a civilised culture, too bad the americans had to kill them all.

Well, not Canadian, but on Canada land (When Canada didn't exist).. Don't get into technicalities ffs.

Lacrosse has the highest number of injuries per player of any sport in the UK.

And it's a girls game :)

I'll kill you while you sleep. :| I'm not joking.

I wasn't joking or making fun or anything :P

Over here it's more or less considered a girls sport. All be it an increadibly violent one.

My high school lacrosse team was ranked number one in the nation last year.

It takes a lot more to play a real game of lacrosse physically than it does for a footy match :|

I played it for two years. It was hell on earth.

Just got introduced in Queensland, Australia this year. Me and a bunch of mates signed up, and have gone 2 seasons undefeated. Unfortunately, we got our asses whooped by guys half our size...they were the state team :(

It's introduced in Queensland? I haven't heard a single word about it at all! D:

I've known about this since I was born, and it's boring and netballish.

yeah i always thought it was a girls sport too. it is predominantly though isn't it?

Lacrosse is definately dominated by males. In my area you grow up playing lacrosse. It's the only sport there is. I had been playing since I was 7 years old, but gave it up in highschool as it became far too competetive. College lacrosse on the mid-east coast is probably the most watched, but highschool lacrosse is more talked about.

There are female lacrosse leagues where I live too....

Or they'll more likely be on the Hockey / NHL wavelength? D:
