The Myserious guy on Valve Logo Intro

This is image/logo was haunting me since I was like the first time I ever played this game, it is very mysterious. This guy looks very scary for some odd reason, maybe it is cause Valve is good at causing/making scary atmosphere lol. Seriously though he is kind of creepy and...he reminds me of Gordon for some odd reason , its probably the shape of his head and hairstyle... Does anyone know this man is really is in real life? His name , was he ever photographed/taken his picture and been on other logos before? Why does he look like Gordon? Was he the inspiration for Gordon Freeman?

Well, I agree, he is very myserious.

I also thought it was supposed to be Gordon, but from what I know it's not, and Gordon's face was taken from Valve employees mixed together.

I heard those where some painting or something like that from a artist and valve choosed it cuz they thought it looked cool,and the name "valve" too

I think that maybe he appears scary because he has a Valve protruding from one of his Eye sockets, not something you see everyday (Except maybe in plumbing accidents)
