If you can't be assed to atleast do basic spelling and punctuation check(hay we all make mistakes thats ok, but don't come across as a retard) why should we be assed to risk our time on your mod?

My advice, don't waste any more time on this mod. Think up a really good idea instead of ripping off an exsisting IP and then pitch that to people in your college and get a small team together and make that.

Alot of people on this board see lots of ideas and people like you, and experience tell us that our time will just get wasted if we help you out.

It goes so far beyond your writing being 'off'. Simple words that you learn to spell in 3rd grade (ideahs??) being spelled wrong show me exactly why you are having trouble recruiting (stealing ideas or no). You are posting a job listing for a project that you'd like to have assistance with. Imagine if a business posted the following in a newspaper:

"Hay guyz, I wanna have some peple join my companie becuz it's like awesomez, so send me some info when you can. K?"

How many responses do you think that company would get? 0? And what would the quality of any responses that they did manage to get be?

I'm not saying this to be an asshole. I'm honestly trying to help you learn a lesson here and this is something you can take with you when you get to your next level of schooling. People don't HAVE to like you, they don't HAVE to listen to any of your ideas. Your presentation to the general public (as seen by the posts on this forum) show a general lack of maturity and care that is needed to draw anyone to your cause. So no-one comes.

That being said, best of luck with the mod I hope things work out for you. But try to keep what I've said in mind a little. I suspect you'll be much happier with the results.

Your posts make no goddamn sense, dude. You keep ranting on about how you're going to write a story but you even said there is no story written yet. You made not a single mention of how this game will play and what will be unique about it. There's no reason to not tell people the story of the mod or how it will play, no one is going to steal it (especially because its already stolen in the first place :upstare The only conclusion is that you don't know what you're doing at all.

Perhaps you could stop wasting the fact that you're a decent modeller and join an existing mod or something.

were local gang is suppressing them and other towns folk
one day the come to links house and his father doesnt want to pay
(you see only the lower part of the face of gannon) it would be foolish to not to give'it'to me,.. you got a family to worry about*grins*
my family can take care ofthemselves *draws his sword*
he lounges at gannondorf he deflects it and kills him instintly

so link go's away and comes back at night to find his father mother and sister dead
he takes them out and burrys them
when he is going to take the weapons he gets a vision of things yet to come.

It does touch on every Zelda game, but besides that, the "evil guy killed my family I need revenge plot" is the most cliched storyline EVER. Every single game/movie/book/cerealbox has used that excuse for a motive before.

I can see he's not a newbie modeller, but he seems to have a very newbie attitude to modding. The less original your game, the less people will want to play it. I could understand it if you the game you were basing it on had a horrible control system which you thought would work better with a keyboard and mouse, or if the game series had been axed and the last version had horrible graphics, but the Zelda games all have beautiful pixel/cell-shaded/'cartoony' graphics and the controls work very well. If you don't make a game people will want to play, you have bear in mind you're going to need a lot of self-motivation to see it through. If you run the risk of your mod getting shut down you're building up your hopes on unsolid ground and you have to be prepared to be disappointed if it all collapses around you.

I think the general consensus here is that you'd be better off designing a homage to Zelda, with a different story, characters and setting. If you've played enough Zeldas you'll know what makes for great gameplay and you can incorporate that into your new game. But making something as big as Zelda is extremely ambitious no matter how good a modeller you are. I'd advise joining another team (try Return to Mana for a similarly-themed mod) to get to grips with the inner workings of a large scale total conversion single player mod (undoubtedly the most demanding type of mod there is). After that you can use your experience to pick up on this idea for your own new and original mod, and this time you'd be able to really do it justice.
