This should interest more than a few of you, especially the graphic novel/comic readers, and more so the Zombie Con players.
But really, if you're a fan of anything zombie related it's probably a must alongside the Zombie Survival Guide. It tells the story of police sheriff Rick Grimes awakening several weeks into what can only be described as a zombie apocalypse, and from there the story goes on as Rick and whoever else he can find along the way attempt to survive in the world of the dead. I won't go into much detail regarding the plot, but it's not so much about hacking through the zombie hordes until you are knee deep in the dead, but it takes on the same vein as 28 Days Later did, where the gravity of the situation and humanity in general becomes a much more freighting prospect than simply escaping from town after town of zombies.
It's incredibly story driven with it's plot and characters, and is overall a very fleshed out, detailed comic that always manages to keep me hooked on every page, although towards the middle of the seven novel issues so far the plot becomes much darker and, in a way, calmer, but then gets straight back to business pretty quickly. The comic has a very cartoony yet realistic aesthetic to it in terms of style, and is generally pretty pleasing on the eyes, but more than a few times I've been so engrossed in the story that I've completly skimmed over the fantastic illustrations, but I always go back over the comic, admiring the pretty pictures as I see them.
If you're a fan of Romero's ''... of the Dead'' films (not so much Land), or 28 Days Later, games like Dead Rising, Zombie Master and ANYTHING zombie related, even Shaun of the Dead, then there is no way these comics can not appeal to you. Seriously suggest some of you, the Zombie Convention blokes mainly, to give 'em a read.
