No, I ment I don't want Lamers in HL2, it gets annoying like sometimes like the hostie killers in CS.

Leave the cats alone, they are cool. Id lend a cat my shotgun or manipulat...okay maybe not the manipulator, but a shotgun to defend itself any day. On topic i wouldnt like to keep seeing the same item scattered on the floor, or a table with the same items on, on every level!
 
The worst part of video games today is the limited interaction between you and NPCs and the repetition of sound bytes.

ex: Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole Fire in the Hole.
 
Personally, the biggest thing I'd like to see HL2 NOT do is this:

Drop me into some hostile zone with nothing but an old sock and a slingshot to defeat the entire zone.... then let you acquire all the fun weapons in the game, only to have a plot sequence which strips you of all weapons.

I'm so tired of games having some contrived plotline that requires you to start the game with absolutely nothing. I know this is probably the case here as well, but you asked... so that's the one thing I'd like to never see.... in any game ever again. *Rant off*

Oh, and any sequence that requires me to jump to more than 2 platforms/gears/conveyor belts in a row.

Valve has said no jumping puzzles will be in HL2, so we're all safe for this.

sorry folkes but i think protecting alex is going to come into play at least once probably more
 
i dont want to see dead bodies inside other dead bodies.
dont want to see a SHORT game
dont want to see very linear levels.

Sadly I agree.

Would be cool to put a twist on this though and have Alyx protect Gordon in some way. Say there's a spot you get injured and she actually is smart enough (AI-wise) to understand this and know what to do. She could do most of the fighting and protect, but you have to provide the brains/plan to her and make the choices for where you go next.
 
I think they would have to make you WANT to protect her ..

Took me a long time to come up with that one.

On Topic:

1. Emotionless characters.
2. Bits of gameplay that are just completely pointless.
3. Information needed to progress being said once only by a character with the quietest voice in the game.
4. The Gman having a breakdown and confiding in Gordon that he actually hates his job.

It's a good thing you can't see gordons face, so you can get into character more, without seeing him you stay in character and its like you are him.

PM a forum admin... Munro, Starmonkey, Hot Soup, or Zerimski.
 
Sections where you get wave after wave of enemy spawning around the corner and you just shoot them down. Especially bad if you've just been there and saw no sign of anyone. Even worse when you know its coming, set up traps and explosives, but they still keep coming.
 
Enemies in stupid places, i remember a RTCW level where the enemies were in places in the map where they just wouldnt be able to get there. :o Ruined any sort of realism the game had after the outside stealthy level.

I also do'nt want to be able to see inside creatures, like, your view clipping inside the model.
 
lobster this thread is about negative things that you dont want to see in hl2,and yes i have posted very positive things about the game before,especially after i read this in gamestar:"of course,.deep down,everyone harbored a secret fear:that it(the e3 video)was all just smoke and mirrors.That there was a chance the 25 minute spectacle of miraculous mattress flinging,strider shooting,bug baiting,and vehicle wrecking was just part of some elaborate ruse.After getting our hands on the game,we can honestly tell you to have no fear.This is the real deal.:)
 
I don't want to see a stupidly hard ending like Far Cry.
I don't want the game to be short.
I don't want to see feet not touching the ground.
I don't want hitboxes.
I don't not want to see TF2.
 
I don't want Gman to get nekkid with Alyx and make babies. Thats Gordons job.

i dont want the manipulator being a major part of the game.

EDIT: and bad music! the music in the first one was good enough for me too actually want to listen to it, lets do that again.
