This operation cannot be completed when steam is in offline mode

I get the message when i sign offline doulbe click in HL2 "This operation cannot be completed when steam is in offline mode"

The game is 100% loaded and says it is ready for offline mode, but i still get that damn message, anyone having the same problem and know how to fix it?

I had to go online again and reboot and then offline worked.

Ya i did that the first time, but i want offline to work because im going away for thanksgiving weekend and i dont have a 56k modem on my computer and they dont high speed internet out there....bastards

After I did that, it works offline All the time now (I should've added that before). Did your try to play it in offline mode a few times after the online/reboot?
