I have been looking forward to Oblivion ever since it was announced. I thought my computer would be good enough to play on minimum settings (GeForce FX 5900, 768 RAM, AMD Athlon 2500+, 1.8 ghz) and I thought, hell, Oblivion would look good enough to have sex with even on minimum settings.
BUT MY COMPUTER IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH
And I won't be able to get an new parts probably until my BIRTHDAY (September 16th).
And, of course, Oblivion comes out on the 20th, and we don't have enough money to get that even. So I am completely screwed. No Oblivion for me. :dozey:

Here is a pic at the lowest settings: http://www.shacknews.com/ja.zz?id=11819517. I am not a graphics whore like some people in this forum (I just need the loading times to be short), but even that looks utterly horrible to me.

In addition, I upgrade every 4 years (sucks living away from your parents and having to pay for food :(). I'm still on the updraft from my last upgrade (9800), but it's gonna be another 2 years till I upgrade.

Actually, omitting that far part where everything is one color, that screenshot looks pretty good to me. And I am sort of a graphics whore. :P

Yeah, the picture doesn't look to bad.

Minimum is 2GHz...

That AMD may or may not run it.

And with the rest of those specs... he'll be just skimming with Minimum, which means running with all settings on their lowest with a studdery framerate.
I though 2500's were supposed to perform at 2.5ghz? And the 5900 is classed as mid-range:

Mid-Range (these cards were/could've been considered top-end a few years ago, and are fairly powerful, and should be enough to fully enjoy Oblivion)

I still take that unoffical Video Card rating system on the TES site with a grain of salt.
My video card is one down from "OMGWTFBBQ!" and it's a 6800GT. If I cant run FEAR with everything maxed out, then theres no way in the hell that I'll be able to max most settings out in Obliv, like that thread claims.

But I'm gonna try to ebay this 6800GT so that will pay for about half of a 7800GS. :D
However, I'll first see how Obliv runs on it.

That screenshot there looks like morrowind LOL

Pretty bad compared to the rest of the screenshots like the ones at oblivion.com or whatever, but at least you get to play the game.

My computer still can't run Morrowind with good settings so I DON'T WANNA HEAR IT! RAWR!! :frown:

..this is difficult for me becuase Im the biggest graphics whore ever

Why do you all of a sudden think it's not good enough?

The top picture isn't that bad, but the bottom one is ick. I wouldn't even bother with this title if I had to run it with really low detail....

I meet all requirements exept my graphics card, Asus Radeon 9600XT...it can run the game "ok and should bring good experiance" so i guess im allright, i can play Doom3, QuakeIV, Hl2 with highest settings (with some special settings lowered)

2.8 Ghz p.4 processor which is above minimum and 0.2 under recommended so its enough!

Anyway...i wanna get those badass newest high end top tiger killing non stop action ultra hyper cyper dyper graphic RAMnova cards...but they cost like 800 $....i guess i have to stop buying games and start saving for better computer.

Well I meet minimum requirements but my computer runs it so slow that I can't create my character. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too laggy.

Would this be able to run it any good on lowest? (I don't care about graphics as long as my computer can run it)

GeForce FX 5600
512 MB RAM
That's all I can remember, but my computer was top-of-the-line with the best everything 3-4 years ago, so that can tell ya something.

@ 800x600 or possibly 1024x768?

technology improves so fast so you can almost never have top of the line.
