How can i put leaves on trees (without custom models)? I read a post on interlopers or somewhere where somebody said they did it, so its possible..

the tree models have different skins. try changing the 'skin' value from 0 (the default) to 1 or 2. in HL2SP skin=1 gives the trees a smattering of autumn leaves

2 didnt seem to work. Wish valve had added summer skins. Oh well.

possibly CSS trees have summer skins

Probably but i read that valve dont want people to use css models in hl2 maps.
