I saw Tremors 2 again yesterday and I noticed some similarites between HL monsters and the Graboids.
The Shriekers are fairly similar to bullsquids in basic terms except that their knees go the other way
Antlions then exibit similar behavior to graboids (they sense vibrations in the soil and attack their source) and have a similar jumping ability to Ass-Blasters.
