Trouble Registering, Need help.

OK here's the problem my mate's just bought Half-Life 2 he doesn't have an internet connection and he says it won't install without one. First off is this true?

Now here's the next question. Can he register it on my computer and transfer whatever file it downloads onto his computer is he gonna have to get connected to the internet?

His computer needs to be connected. There is no file to transfer.

OK, thanks for the info I'm curious now. If the online authorisation isn't downloading a file what exaclty does it do and does this mean you need to have internet access everytime you want to play the game in singleplayer mode?

It unlocks HL2 on the computer that is connected to the net. You should be a good friend and tell him to bring his computer over to your house so he can activate it.
I'm going to have the same problem because my ISP blocks gaming ports :angry: :angry: :angry: Hopefully they'll have mercy on me for this major emergency!
