Im having some trouble getting connected to all the servers in tf2 and beta.

In TF2, right after i get connected to any server I go to it lags really bad and 2 - 3 minutes later i get disconnected. I tried to find out what the problem is but I couldn't find anything.

In TF2 Beta, on the master list there's like 2 servers that i tried getting on but i keep getting this message that says "Connection failed after 4 retries." I have no idea what it means, plus I'm also trying to figure out where the rest of the servers are i searched everything but I still keep getting the 2 same servers on my master list.

I tried everything, updated everything, restarting stuff but it still won't let me connect through any servers. I don't know what needs to be done to get it to work.

Have you checked for firewall/router issues?

Well that took care of one of my problems, but I still have another problem. On the master list I can only find 2 different servers, I dont know why I can't find the rest of the servers. I researched things, i changed things but I still keep getting the 2 of the same servers. Anyone else having this kind of problems?

Can you take a screenshot of your server list / settings? Press the printscreen button (top right of your keyboard) - paste the image into mspaint, save it as a jpeg and upload it here - http://imgur.com/ , then post the link.

or why don't i post it like this.

Theres only one server i can get into but as for the other server i get this message "Connection failed after 4 retries"

So what do I do, I can get into the server thats on top but I cant get into the other server thats below it?

You have all your filters off so it seems most likely that your anti-virus / firewall is blocking your access to see servers. You need to open up your anti-virus and find your firewall 'exceptions' section and allow - steam, tf2.exe, hl2.exe and anything else related you see there.

Also are you on a university campus or using anything other than your home internet. Are you wired or wirelessly connected to your router?

This occasionally happens to me, and is the reason why I never played tf2 (until recently) even though I've owned it since the orange box came out. Back in 2007, I went to play tf2, and no servers showed up. I figured if nobody on the entire internet is playing it, it must suck pretty badly, so I never gave it a second thought.

Typically rebooting fixes the issue. I've also gotten around it by connecting to servers via favorites.

I tried messing around with the firewalls but now this time, Theres no servers at all.

How good is your signal strength from your router to your computer? Can you do this test and report back the speeds - http://www.speedtest.net/

Two other things:
1. Can you see servers on any other Source games?
2. Can you connect to any servers via the console? (options > keyboard > advanced > enable developers console. Press ' [below ESC] and type in 'connect xxx.xxx.xx.xxxxx'* and press return

* = this will be the ip address of a server, try the Source OP servers perhaps
