Trouble shooting

Alright, I downloaded two versions of Gmod and both of which will make it to the loading screen before crashing with an erros message, which after removing all the nonsense, bascily said "Cache needs to be decrypted." Any ideas? I tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

Something has gone wrong with your installation... does that occur with basic HL2? As to my knowledge, Steam decrypts game cache files when you authenticate yourself in Steam and install a Steam game (automatically if your cd-key is valid). It looks like lot of people are getting this error. Still, it could be a bug. I am using Gmod v.8 and it works fine.

Well I DL V7 and that works for me... could it be my computer just can't take the needs of V8? I find that kind of hard to believe since I bought this thing just last year and even then it was a beast... however, you know how computers age.

Can we get specs for your computer? I doubt that if you can run V7 fine then V8 wouldn't.
