Troy: Divine Playground will be released in one week! The team has worked hard for this to happen, and I would first want to thank all of them for their support on the project.

Here are today’s goodies:

- A manual, explaining some core concepts of the game. For information on weapons or skills, go in the mod info section.

- A truck-load of new screenshots and map concept arts, all available in the media section

- We now have our official server setup on www.clanservers.com, and there will be a server running 24/7 for you to try out the mod with others at launch.

The game still needs polishing, which means that it still has known bugs. The reason we are releasing T:DP now is because the main staff cannot continue forward with the project. We all got started on real jobs, and cannot continue working on it. This means that we will not release further versions of the mod. The only way the mod is going to improve and get support is if a team with previous mod experience offers to take over the project.

See you ingame in one week!

atleast some kind of new mod is actually being released soon... I look forward to it. :smoking:

wow. concept seems awesome but the gameplay video seemed pretty laggy. is lag going to be a big problem with this mod?

Lag's a problem with pretty much every mod early-on until dedicated servers are set up. GoldenEye: Source, Empires, and Battlegrounds suffered for a bit (although Battlegrounds, to its immense credit, had a couple dedicated servers up damn fast).

And as for the mod, melee combat on any FPS engine is a bit suspect, and if my experiences with Battlegrounds are any indication, there's going to be a serious Whiskey Tango Foxtrot factor in about half the kills. But I'm still optomistic, and I've got respect for these guys for trying something at least nominally original.

I'll be downloading, either way.

actually, with battlegrounds, when you got used to the combat system you could figure out what to do to kill other people. after a few days, i was meleeing everyone without even taking damage. so my score would be like 30-0 in 10 minutes. that's why i quit, because it wasn't a challenge

I played it for months and I always felt like I was getting hosed- I'd charge right at someone from behind and poke them in the back of the head and they'd magically dodge it and tear me apart somehow.

That's an exaggeration, but at least for me half the melee kills were head-scratchers.
