Hi out there :D ...
I have surfed several forums but im still tock in my project,
so i desited to write a thread...

My situiation:
Im trying to rip a cs 1.6 m249 model to the new source (mod).

My problem:
The vtf/vtm files (i think)... when i compile my model (with my created vtf files from the orginal bmp files in the cs1.6 model) it only come out in black and white... i know there is MANY threads out there with problems like this, and i have almost tryed everyone, so i really want some personal help :) .

My tryes:
I have tryed to edit the .qc file and the .vtm files, severals of times, to try to make it to work, but it seems to have no effect :( ..

My main question:
How do i convert my cs 1.6 weapon model to the source engine so it comes out with the textures on it...(look at www.dustin.1go.dk for my whole m249 project[1.4mb in .RAR])?

My avalable software:
Adobe Photoshop 7, Milkshape3D, sourcesdk.

Please help me with this, anyone, plz :)

(Sry my english!)

I think you have to convert your BMP to a Targa 24 bit. Try that. I "think" that is your problem.

thx for the reply DerekJR321!

I have finally figured out how the hole thing "talking tougeter" :) ...

My problem was in the .qc file and in the .vmt files...

The .qc file:
i havent added this line [$cdmaterials "models\weapons\v_models\m249"]

The vmt files:
i havent added this line
["$basetexture" "models\weapons\v_models\m249\handfinal256"
"$model" "1"] correct.

if anyone out there have ploblems like mine, feel free to email me:
