Two Questions

1. Where I can find the skynames? I know how to make skybox and so on but it seems ive forgot, or i have never known where to find skynames. Its been long since I last time mapped.

2. How can u scale the textures so they wouldnt look so tile-ish. If that's even possible.

1. Which game?

2. Select the brush/face then press shift-a. There will probably be 2 numbers on the left that say 0.25. Change this to 1 or 0.5 or whatever.
 
I hate the tiling also...really ruins a big room if it's textured.

What did u mean by: "What Game?" If u mean what for I need the skynames then Counter Strike: Source

Yeah, it's just HL uses different skies I think. I found this list:

cx
de_cobble
de_piranesi
hav
italy
jungle
office
sky_dust
sky_wasteland02
 
Mm... I think hl2 skies can be used in CSS too... But thanks fot that list ^^
 
a good way to fit a texture best, and reduce the tiling is to fit it too the surface you want (like a wall). It will look a bit stretched so you change the scale. make the larger number in the scaling equal to the smaller number. (could be either x or y, depending on what you are working with.)
 
just a related question - for the skyboxes, like in HL2, will they still have a bright sun and all that? or is that a seperate thing?
