Updating Steam: 500 Minutes????

I updated steam before and it took aobut 20 minutes. then my computer got messed up and so i had to reinstall windows and so eveyrhting got deleted. Now im installing steam again and updating CS:S, but now its taking a ridiculous amount of time. 500 minutes??! if anyone could explain this...thx

Did you install HL2 back in from CD when you got Windows back up?

If not, Steam is trying to download the whole CSS game. Maybe that's why...?

yep, you're redownloading your content, which will take a while. install from cd.

if u mean he installed from CD and then waited 20 minutes for it to update, thats believable.
