Before playing I am always instructed to update my video drivers for better performance but I'm not quite sure how to go about this. I have Intergrated 82865G Graphics Controller (96mb). Would the drivers be updated in the windows updates or must I go to a different website? Any help would be appreciated. :)

I'm not entirely sure, but someone will, but just in case you weren't sure you don't have to update them to play (as a friend of mine thought) its just better for increased performance and such like. However i must congratulate you getting Half-life 2 to work on those intergrated graphics!

You better believe I'm looking for all the increased performance I can get with my integrated card! But seriously, it runs singleplayer very well with everything set on medium. There are a few spikes here and there but for the most part it is playable. Multiplayer is what really kills it. Any of the outdoor maps makes it a slideshow but I can still play steamlab

Dunno where exactly to get the new drivers for your card, but if you go here and get Everest home edition, it will show you all the components of your comp, as well as links to driver pages for all of them.

Personally I hardly ever rely on automated updates and that kind of thing, cos I don't trust them. Get them straight from the vendor's support pages.

Some people recommend that you remove all traces of your old drivers before installing new ones. If you feel like doing that, google for a program called DriverCleaner.

edit - oh yeah, wrong forum btw

Thanks alot for the help. Turns out I have the latest drivers, but it is just my video card that is inaddequate(sp?). O well, I'll just enjoy what I can.
