I have an old pc. In one word- its crap. Its at least 10 years old and its a "Pakard Bell." Its a Pentium 1. It has like 300 mhz. 4gb of hardrive space. Yes just 4. 32mb ram. Is it possible to buy a new processor, motherboard, graphics card, ram, and all that other good stuff to upgrade it? Or would it be less expensive just to buy a new one?

theres nothing u could really upgrade since it would cost a fortune to buy those rare parts

rare? I see places where you could buy ram and other crap all the time.

When you mean upgrade, you mean scrapping everything but the case? Which btw probably sucks anyways...

yup...you really should buy a new...just spend 1200$ and get an ati athlon 9800 graphics card, athlon xp 2800 processor, you can probly go from there. lots of memory and space...you can run doom3 like butter..so it can run pretty much anthing else you throw at it...not bad price either.

SELL 'EM FOR A FORTUNE!

10 years old? nah Pentium 300Mhz is younger. And I think it's Pentium II BTW.

If you rebought your hard drive, ram, motherboard, psu, graphics card, cd-rom drives and buy a dvd-rom drive and dvd\cd write drives then technically your just building a new comp.. It would be cheaper but you don't do it unexperinced.

You could go buy some ram, but that ram would be soo ****ing slow for your processor, and to upgrade your processor you need a new motherboard, and to upgrade your gfx card with a nice new one you may need agp8x or pciexpress 16x so you need a new motherboard aswell as a new power supply. And you would probably want a new harddrive since HL2 wont even fit on it with windows.

So it's either: completely build your own rig and use the case(considering the case is big enough), this would be cheaper but i'm not sure you even know how to put togeather a computer.

or

Buying a new computer all togeather. I'd go with this if you don't know how to build your own rig.
