Validating

Hello, first post .

Ive installed portal from the orange box, i double click it icon to play it then it says its valdating, it hits 100% but then doesnt load? i click icon again and again and same thing happens. Ive restarted my pc, steam and everything apart from reinstalling portal. Was trying to skip that method, anyone got any suggestions? thanks .

Delete your clientregistry.blob located in the Steam folder.

How long have you left it for after it reaches 100%?

It might take a while for it to actually get to the playable stage. Maybe it is ready to play, but you haven't noticed? You can set it to run automatically after it's loaded. If neither of those are working then i'm not sure. Maybe uninstall the game and remove files etc.
