Think how many ideas (if they haven't already thought of them themselves) they would have from all the comments and ideas of this community.

It's like Valve would benefit from hundreds of un-paid researchers and experts. :)

There's so many legal issues involved with that and people waving rights its a headache to do

They did used to visit this site regularly though.

Good point, trust "legal reasons" to get in the way.

Still though, surely a poster in a forum would have a difficult time proving they thought up an idea or concept over Valve Software.

Plus, announcing an idea you wouldn't want someone to read in a forum would be stupid, lol. :P

They probably read a ton of community forums when they were still in the early stages of development for HL2. As for right now they probably come by everyonce in awhile just to see what the general feeling is. There just isn't really any way that they can implement any new ideas when they are so late in the development stage.

They are too adding new content! The helecoptor! Huuh??

I feel like singing again...

Ooh mamma... Half-Life 2's delayed, life's not worth livin' no more, I'm just gonna swallow this haand greeenaaaaaad! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! *the guitars are whailing, the crowed is merciless, life is good*

What a talented young man.
In all likelihood, Valve does read this forum. Incedentally Gabe, can I have some money?

They most definately do read these forums and other Half-Life 2 forums.

I wonder how aggrivated they get reading the constant Valve slander from people like myself. I wouldn't be surprised if a few Valve employees are anonymously registered in an attempt do battle with us mindless hordes. Perhaps just trying to keep the faith amoungst the drones!

I'm always suspicious of the "I love Valve and Half-Life 2 will be the greatest game on earth" people. ;)

Don't be suspicious just because i act in a suspicious, secretive manner..... ;)

Well I'm definately not from valve, but I'll defend them untill I'm the only pro-valve poster left.

An interesting question. How many of us are actually secret Valve employees?

*raises hand meekly*

I used to be the guy who would follow Gabe around begging for food. Then he would hit me, and I'd fall back into the gutter. Does that count?

I wasn't actually a hobo at the time... I was just really, really pathetic.
Those memories haunt me. I am scarred for life (because Gabe used a crowbar).

(Sorry, just remembered the "You sound like Valve is your abusive father" reply someone once made in response to an overreactive forum goer. Good times...)

...anyway. Valve does pop in, but I dunno if any of their members actively read up as much as blatant fanboys like myself do. As for inspiration or general ideas, I'd agree- can't you just picture some idiot attempting legal action over Valve for including a rocket-powered snark? :imu:

A rocket powered snark? What will they think of next?
Seriously, there probably are some undecover Valvers watching us...waiting...
So don't diss Valve, or you'll be blacklisted and you won't be allowed to buy HL2!
