Hard to tell, they don't exactly seem like geniuses anyway. I doubt they have any education either, being mass-produced in a factory.

Well, they both close laterally, but the Predators' mouths look more like the mouth of some kind of crab, whereas those of the Grunts, from memory, look a little more like a beartrap.

It is possible but I'd say they communicate by speaking. In Half-Life they'd already learned "Die!" (and they said "Hweeya" or something similar to each other) so perhaps after ten years the scientists have taught them more. "Freeman in lab! Freeeman in lab!"

I've never seen a crab with a mouth like that

You should get a look at them under a big magnifying glass then. Depends on the type of crab, though. Scorpions can be similar.

I've had them right in front of my face quite a few times, but it's not really worth arguing about anyway.

Also, not sure if it was discussed in this thread but yes there's an animation for alien grunts doing a 'victoryeat'
