.vtf Question

Okay this may be a dumb question, but where can i find my HL-2 folder that contains the .vtf files. Yes I have a legal copy of Half-Life 2 and steam... before anyone asks.

steam > steamapps > half-life 2 > hl2 > materials > ...

but its empty. The hl2 textures are away in the .gfc files. But all youre custom content will appear in those folders.

You can extract them from the gcf by using gcfscape.
