I pre ordered Half Life 2: CE from ebgames.com a couple of weeks ago for "in store pickup", something I haven't done before. I got an email which mentioned a couple of things:
"As release dates change frequently, we cannot guarantee arrival dates. You will receive a reminder notice from us several days before the product is expected to arrive in the store you have chosen. When the product has reached the store, you will be contacted at the phone number you provided to pickup your product."
Expected to arive? Well I never got that notice, nor did I get a phone call. The release date didn't change, so I'm guessing what they really are trying to say is that they cannot guarantee they will even have the game at all.
"As soon as we ship your order (pending credit authorization), we will send you a separate shipment confirmation with more details."
:hmph: Yea...I'm still waiting.
Well, I didn't get to play HL2 on the 16th. But I am going to call Electronics Boutique today and see what is up. I just wanted you guys to know about this, and maybe hear from somehow else who doesn't have the game or has had similar problems? Well I'm off to watch Comedy Central and eat breakfast.
I can tell you one thing though, I'm never doing the in store pickup thing again.
