I really really need to learn how to texture proply and im having trouble finding decent textures. At the moment im trying to model a gun but have no idea how to do it. Its unwraped and ready to go. Im sure some people on here must know some decent texturing tutorials, ones specific to weapons would be best. If you know of any please post!

That is just a link to another one of my threads :S

i know it is ...thats the point i was trying to make . you already have more than enough help on the subject. you might want to actually try and learn something from them instead of expecting to be spoon fed.

And that is represented by a tutorial i made?

Don't bother replying I'm not on these forums to talk to morons.

Quite cool tutorials there crackhead. The second one is better, might try getting some scratches and stuff into my gun :D

yeah. also you might know this technquie but if not then its really effective. naaier taught me it. basicly get an image of a really shiny metal thing. i have a pic of a shiny metal dogbowl. then use the stamp tool which is basicly clone. and set the opactiy really low and the brush thickness to 0. then alt click on the shiny metal image and paint over your metal texture. it can create some really cool photorealistic effects. i havnt had a great deal of sucess with it but i can see possibilites it preseants.

morons ? ... i was trying to say that all resources needed to learn texturing principles has already been supplied to you . you dont need tutorials that are application specific.

ahh i was thinking of sourceblog but i couldnt rememeber what it was called.

looks really good but you can blatently see the noise on the top right section. on tutorials and things when it says grime brush what does that meen exactly?

Brushes for painting dirt, scratches .... grime really hehe :) to make it look more used rather then fresh out of the box.

yeah i agree with crackhead. most of the filters in photoshop create repetetive patterns that you can see through out the texture, also it looks extremely dark for a gun . you should start off with a 50% grey base that way you can make it lighter in the future without loosing all your detail. also the highlighted edges are way too blurry.
edit: just for the sake of clarity i wasnt trying to put you down mate i was just saying that you shouldnt look beyond what you already have.

is that a version of a p90. i dont think its to dark for a p90

wow man the texture needs alot of work i know its just a wip and your actually doing really good soo good luck finishing it up cant wait for you to finish it.
