Weird Error, Model Flipped when compiled

I keep getting a weird problem with a compile on an smg replacement. I put my model in, reassigned all the bones to the correct vertices on the weapon replacement. I move them a bit so they are in better position for the gun, but when I compile I get the following (from a view weapon perspective, moved out a bit)

now if you look at it, from the elbow to about mid-arm is fine then, what it looks like to me is all the vertices got rotated somehow. In the smg1_reference.smd, everything is straight and looks fine. Anybody know what is going wrong?

add -90 after all the all the animation lines or something i cant really remember sorry.

yea, I did do that. It's 'rotate -90' btw. still got the same result. All the rotate command did was bring it in on the correct side in viewmodel mode in HLMV. The weapon itself is still rotated wrong, and like I said earlier, if you look at the base of the arms, they're straight. So it can't be a rotate command in the .qc because then wouldn't the forearms be screwed up too? Anyone else have any ideas?

if i export one of my models from xsi and import it to 3dsmax its usualy flipped upwards. try rotating the model before compiling?

Aye, try what crackhead said. It should work.

Nope, still get the model stretching. Only thing that happens if I rotate the weapon inside the .smd before compile is that the weapon just rotates, stays in the same position, all stretched out and what not. On another note, might help with dissecting the cause of the problem, some of the faces on the gun are screwed up, or just non-existant. I've tried doing the 'reverse normals' option but that just makes it worse. Any more ideas guys?

i really have no idea but your best bet is to uploade the file here and someone will be bale to figure out the problem for you.

Well it looks ok from here.

I imported your reference smd, then exported a static idle01.smd because it needs a sequence to be able to compile. I also re-exported the reference smd with flip all normals ticked

Removed the rotate -90 from your qc compiled and it looks ok in hlmv.

Yep, did what you did and got the same result. Looks like the error is occuring with bone assignments. I'll keep toying around with it and let you all know if I come up with a fix or a work-around..

I get this same problem whem i export my models from 3dsmax. The remedy for it is to make sure you "Reset X-Form" BEFORE you apply physique to your model.
IF you click on reset X-form it may or may not flip all the normals in your model. If it does flip all the normals in your model, you need to click on your model, go to sub-object level and select all the faces and flip them manually. Once this is done, collapse the model and you can go about physique'ing it.
