weird tank vehicle?

i was playing half life 2 and at the end when you are in that pod thing that takes you all around the tracks and up to breens office. while i was in it i saw a tank like synth think that had 4 legs and was really big. what is this thing? do you think it will be in the next half-life game? sorry if this was already posted

It's just another Synth, you don't have to fight it in any of the episodes 'so far'. Valve planned on using it more, but they didn't, that's the only time you see it.

It's the Crab Synth. I'm keeping up hope of seeing it in action still.

How big is it? Compared to a human.

Not as big as you'd expect if you noclip down there. However, you're never meant to do that, and their size may just be a perspective illusion, as they look real big from where you see them in-game.
