I just removed the game from my computer. I couldn't believe it. The game just throws one meat-grinder after another at you. There's no real progression through the game without constant frustration. I found myself becoming angry at the game, even. I just got sick of it, dying over and over and over again.

Very disappointed in Valve. Give me Id any day.

i haven't completed the game yet. i just finished ravenholm. i died maybe twice in all my playing time so far.. difficulty on normal.
so what, you died alot in the singleplayer game. i'm sure that will happen with doom 3 also. but you're just going to give up on source's multiplayer potential??

Please stop complaining just because something is hard. Stop whining, take a deep breath, actually try and enjoy the game and stop wasting people's time with useless posts. Perhaps give us the certain part you are stuck on, and maybe someone can help.

You suck, this game is very easy. Doom 3 is way harder, i don't seee how you could like a game where you would die more.

Even thought I found HL2 more worth while playing, I still do think Doom III has it's own well done potential.

Whoa whoa whoa there, everybody!

I was totally impressed with the realistic atmosphere. The airboat, the dunebuggy, commanding the ant lions and especially the squad of troops at my command. All of these were very cool.

I was especially impressed by the antlions; they were way cool.

And do I suck? Hmmm, at video-gaming, maybe. Hehe, I wouldn't be surprised! I work 25 days out of every 28, and I work hard. I pay bills, I have enormous responsibilities, both financially and saftey--especiall in safety. I drive an 18-wheeler coast-to-coast. In fact, I own my own rig. To me then, I buy a game for its entertainment value. And yes, Doom3 was enormously entertaining for me. I enjoyed it tremendously. Maybe that's because I'm a die-hard Doom fan. It was the first game that truly blew my hair back.

At any rate, I bought HalfLife2 because a lot of my friends told me that it was a must-see and must-play game. It was must-see. The game engine was completely stunning. The gameplay, however, for me, was not very entertaining at all. Most of it in fact, was an exercise in frustration. I don't need frustration. I don't need to look past the difficulty and try to enjoy a game I clearly don't enjoy. I don't need to crush myself into a position that is uncomfortable. I removed the game from my HD, a friend is going to get it in the mail next week, and I'll be done with it.

Are you giving him your Steam account as well? Because that copy of HL2 is eternally linked to your Steam account.

You must really suck at games :/ My 12 year old brother had no troble beating the game. :/ Sry if i hurt your feelings in anyway but thats how i honistly feel.
