What actually needs to be done?

As far as i undestand it, the source code for HL2 has been pinched by hackers (as much as i can gather from the gaming press). Okay does that entail that valve has to either rework the code so it cannot be mucked up by the actual players who have such data or are they trying to tweak the new code so the game contains new surprises that will result in the stolen code becoming obsolete and thus allowing valve to stay at the forefront of the game and create competition! Long winded i know but i like to get my point across:dozey:

I don't think anyone except VALVe can say for sure...

probably a bit of both? *shrug* as said above, only Valve can answer that..

might also want to factor in Steam and its network... i still don't think its ready for a HL2 release (assuming that today the game was ready to ship and stuff.. Steam still needs work) so theres enough things pointing to a delay most pple did not expect and/or won't understand..

I think Steam was a big part of it. I just hope they're improving HL2 if it's not coming out 'till 2004 sometime.
